Objective
Telekom wanted to introduce a new way of engaging further with its customers, by enhancing the brand, building their reputation for innovation, at the same time as attracting new subscribers. Together with Accedo, they launched one of the first live music experiences combined with virtual reality on a mobile app. The app gives you the opportunity to listen to live concerts and also to experience them in different formats – either as a normal live stream, or (if you have the gear attached) in virtual reality. The top priority for Telekom was to launch in time for the Rock Am Ring Concert in June 2017.
Solution
Accedo, in partnership with Telekom, designed the Magenta Music 360 application which enables Telekom customers to watch live music events in VR and gain exclusive access and content. Additional features included on-demand content from previous events and previews of what’s to come.
Result
Increased engagement with Telekom customers – demand far outstripped the original estimates on how many streams would be viewed! Endorsed Telekom’s position as an industry innovator and provider of entertainment services and strong differentiators within a very competitive market.
