Background
TenTime is a state of the art interactive subscription video on demand (SVoD) platform available in the MENA and GCC regions as well as globally for Arab speaking audiences. Its catalog includes a wide range of Arabic productions from all around the Arabic speaking world, as well as international content dubbed into Arabic. In addition to series, movies, TV shows, and original productions, TenTime also features an extensive library of Arabic music, much of which is exclusively available on the platform, in addition to streaming channels for music, shows and lifestyle programs. It is one of the first SVoD services that gives consumers in Arabic speaking countries the chance to easily stream a wide range of entertainment content on a single platform. It should also be noted that all original productions are also dubbed in Kurdish and Farsi to be accessible to another captive audience in the region.
Objective
There are a number of OTT services operating in the MENA region, but TenTime recognized a gap in the market for a localized offering dedicated to the Arabic speaking world. The company has already been successful in delivering its SVoD service to consumers using iOS and Android devices, and now wanted to expand its reach to connected TVs in a cost effective way, without compromising on user experience. As the offering is global to Arab speaking audiences, it was critical that the extended service incorporated both Right to Left and Left to Right language support.
Solution
Accedo assigned a dedicated project team to work closely with internal stakeholders at TenTime to help bring streamed content to connected TVs and providing a starting point for the development process. Accedo’s solutions can be quickly adapted and customized, while also using an established architecture that is simple to integrate and extend as required. This made it quick and cost effective for TenTime to extend its video service, while adhering to the varying operating systems and requirements that exist for different Connected TV devices.
Accedo also provided native language support for Right to Left and Left to Right, along with key pre-built features suited for connected TV platforms, in accordance with TenTime’s project objectives.
Results
By working with Accedo, TenTime has been able to successfully expand the availability of content on its SVoD service. The company is now delivering Arabic series, movies, TV shows, original productions and music, to Samsung, LG, and Android-based Connected TVs.
Accedo made it possible for TenTime’s video service to be developed and launched in a short time frame.
The company can now focus its efforts on growing its subscriber base across the region while delivering a truly local service that meets customer needs. Going forward, it will be looking at extending its SVoD service to additional connected TV platforms.
