In 2018, Channel 5 embarked on a journey to build a whole new generation of applications for the company’s video-on-demand service, My5. They wanted to ensure a high-quality and consistent level of service while also focusing on a good user experience that keeps every single customer happy and engaged.

Channel 5 enlisted Accedo to handle the project’s live stream web applications. By using Accedo’s Build framework, our engineering teams were able to build a single My5 application and then port that application onto multiple platforms. Channel 5 also wanted a supplier with whom to form a long-term relationship and who could support them with growing the My5 products over time.

By focusing on getting the basics right - providing a service that delivers a simple yet effective user experience that entertains and offers value to customers - Channel 5 has managed to vastly exceed their growth targets. As of September 2020, the company had already reached their goals for the entire year, making this a very successful program of work.
