Accedo Broadband Presents Web 2.0 Services for IPTV at IBC
Stockholm, Sweden – 28 August, 2008 – Accedo Broadband today announced a range of applications with Web 2.0 functionality available in the Accedo Application Portfolio. The applications will be presented on Accedo’s stand in the IPTV Zone at IBC (#126) from 12th- 16th September.
Over the last few years many new Internet services have emerged on the market. These new “Web 2.0” services have user-interaction, social networking and user-generated content in common, and these services have quickly become favourites for consumers.
“The TV media is traditionally a broadcast media with all users getting the same content. With IPTV technology each end user can interact directly and personally with channels or services, similar to the standard web.” commented Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo Broadband. “The future of IPTV is about bringing new services and applications to the TV viewer. Accedo is all about the new TV experience, and by offering these new applications to the market we take another step towards the future living room.”
At IBC 2008, Accedo will present a framework for IPTV applications which can connect to Web 2.0 services, either third party services or in-house run services. These services will bring attractive content and functionality from the Internet to the TV and bring truly differentiating services to the IPTV market. These services will be available for all Accedo’s customers from Q4 2008.
Accedo Broadband will also be demonstrating the latest in IPTV gaming and SVG applications, as well as a range of interactive on demand services for IPTV.
