Hej! Jiawei is back.
I had a two-week vacation. During the vacation, I attended the KTH Master’s Graduation Ceremony in Stockholm City Hall (where the Nobel banquet is held every year after the Nobel Prize ceremony). My parents also came to Sweden to attend the ceremony. I was quite happy to have them in Stockholm to see how much I have achieved. It was a fantastic ceremony. After that, we had a nice trip to Amsterdam, Barcelona and Madrid. They really enjoyed it.
I was back to business on Tuesday (thanks to the Swedish National Day on Monday, I could have some time to “recover” from the vacation). Recently, I was busy learning and doing research on the Kubernetes, which is an open-source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
Yesterday, we trainees (Gustav, Oscar and me) and some senior people in the company (CEO, Michael Lantz, the SVP of Business Development and company co-founder, Fredrik Andersson, and the VP of Products, Fredrik Sandberg) had a half-day workshop together. The workshop was planned as part of the trainee program. We had multiple sessions on different topics from identifying the strengths of the company to what the product would be like in the future. After each session, we three were given some time to do exercises as a small team. During each exercise, we had many discussions, which resulted in some ideas for product features, marketing plan and strategies. The workshop was really rewarding and our feedback and ideas are highly appreciated by our mentors.
After the workshop, we went to a nice Swedish restaurant. Oscar told me the restaurant was there 100 years ago. I tried some traditional Swedish food and local beer (Biff Rydberg and Nya Carnegie Kellerbier). It was very nice and I was so full that I didn’t even have room left in my stomach for the good dessert.
The weather in Stockholm is getting colder again, which is not like the Summer we want. I hope it will get better soon.
Have a nice weekend!
