Is it really a month (almost) since IBC?

We are into October already and I cannot believe it has already been four weeks since IBC. And yet, I am still literally buzzing from what must have been our most successful IBC yet.

We are into October already and I cannot believe it has already been four weeks since IBC. And yet, I am still literally buzzing from what must have been our most successful IBC yet.

This year was a furor of exciting announcements for us, including announcing new customer projects with both Channel 4 and Telefonica. Both projects were great to work on and the one with Telefonica, which brought TV to Spanish rail passengers, was even a finalist for the IBC innovation awards. In case you missed it, we also announced our brand new video experience platform, Accedo One. It is a cloud platform that comprises a portfolio of products and tools to help our customers deploy engaging video experiences across a multitude of platforms. The rationale between the new launch is to make it easy for content providers of any size to launch a video experience since they can pick an off-the-shelf solution depending on experience and/or industry. This is becoming more important than ever as the types of companies delivering video has never been more varied.

Accedo One includes a number of additional innovations, such as our Android TV Operator Tier for pay TV operators launching video across the Android TV ecosystem, and our latest VR innovations.

This year’s IBC was also awash with award success for us. As mentioned above, the project with Telefonica was a finalist for the IBC Innovation Awards. In the CSI awards, our project with Telekom (Deutschland) to launch Magenta Musik 360 the world’s first mass-market available Virtual Reality experience for live concerts, was awarded best VR innovation. We were also presented with an IBC What Caught My Eye award for Accedo One. All of which resulted in a pretty impressively adorned stand by the time we had displayed all our awards.

Finally, as if five days at a trade show stand was not enough to tire us out, kudos to my fellow Accedo team #4K4Chaitiy runners Martin, Sebastian, Hector and Alex for joining me and several hundred others – bright and early on the Saturday morning of the show – all for great causes of course!

So, with IBC behind us, we are of course already thinking about the next round of shows and the calendar is looking fuller than ever. Check out our events page to see where you can meet us next or get in touch with your closest office if you cannot wait that long.
