One of the main work-related events of this week was attending the “LARM-dagarna” student fair at Linköping University on Wednesday. Even though we had a long day, beginning somewhere shortly after 4 AM in the morning to get everything ready to head on down to Linköping by car and ending with evening activities (non-work related) back in Stockholm, it was super fun. The LARM event stretches over almost 2 weeks in January-February with two weeks of warm-up activities with lunch lectures from interesting people and other stuff. The actual student fair lasts for only one day and can boast about the 154 (!) companies that students can get in contact with during the day. Having studied for 5 years in Linköping myself, I have a particular soft spot for LARM, as it gave me a lot of interesting contacts and opportunities when I was a student there.
We had our booth just outside lecture hall C4 in building C, and were represented by three employees as well as two of our current thesis students, which was great! The fair was crammed with students and company representatives and Accedo received what I can only describe as massive attention. Major attractions were of course all of our cool customers, what we work with, as well as our award for the Swedish award “Karriärföretagen 2015” (eng. Carreer Company 2015). Students were coming from all sorts of backgrounds and programs and showed interest in the trainee program, thesis work, future employment possibilities or just wanting to know more about the company in general. I am really looking forward to next year’s event!
