QA Automation Engineer

About The Role:  

As a QA Automation Engineer at Accedo, your primary responsibility is to ensure the delivery of high-quality software applications by developing and implementing effective automated and manual testing solutions. You will play a key role in testing Accedo's applications, focusing on both automation and manual testing. This entails designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts, frameworks, and tools to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the testing process. Additionally, you may also engage in performing manual testing activities to thoroughly evaluate the software applications. By combining your expertise in automation and manual testing, your objective is to contribute to the development of robust and flawless software systems that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests and frameworks to validate software functionality, performance, and stability.  
• Work directly with products and engineering teams to gather business requirements. 
• Conduct detailed analysis of user requirements, and identify and define suitable test scenarios for automation.
• Monitor test automation results, and diligently document and communicate identified defects.  
• Prepare timely and comprehensive reports on test progress, test coverage, and overall quality trends observed through automation.
• Perform manual testing when necessary, encompassing test case creation, execution, and thorough defect verification.  
• Engage in code reviews and offer feedback on improving testability and code quality.
• Analyze business requirements to identify potential areas for implementing QA automation.
• Participate in agile team processes and actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

About You:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and independent work ethic.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• 2+ years of proven experience in test automation using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Proven understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and test execution.
• Hands-on experience in developing automation tests of client-server applications on one or more of the streaming-connected devices or mobile platforms. 
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Proven understanding of Object-Oriented programming concepts with any OO languages.
• Proficiency in test automation frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, Appium, Postman, and similar.
• Understanding of test design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM), Page Factory, and its implementation in test automation frameworks.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic commands in a test automation environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Self-motivated, passionate, responsible, and a team player.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
• Continuous learning mindset to keep up with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Nice To Have:

• Prior experience with streaming media technology is highly advantageous.
• Experience with debugging tools like Fiddler, Charles Proxy, ADB, Postman, or similar. 
• Proficiency in utilizing Jenkins for continuous integration and test automation.
• Understanding of REST API for effective test reporting.
