Inuk Networks and Accedo Broadband partner to add games and interactive services to Freewire IPTV platform

London, UK, 20 August 2007 – Inuk Networks announced today that it has entered into a partnership with Stockholm based content and application provider for IPTV and consumer electronics, Accedo Broadband. The agreement will result in a new dedicated games service being added to Inuk’s Freewire IPTV service and will be rolled out in two phases. Built on Accedo’s Funspot® games platform, the new service will initially offer a number of games to users free of charge. This will be supplemented over a number of months with additional games to provide a broad choice of premium interactive content.

Freewire’s television audience already enjoys a host of diverse programming content. This deal will further enhance the Freewire IPTV service ” currently available to thousands of students across the UK using the high speed JANET network ” by incorporating a branded interactive gaming element. Accedo will retain responsibility for management of the games while Inuk will provide customer billing and integration of the games into the Freewire platform.

Nick Ruczaj, Marketing Director at Inuk Networks said: “As IPTV begins to take full advantage of the scope it offers in terms of interactivity, the addition of casual gaming on our Freewire platform acts as a core differentiator. Understanding the need to create a compelling IPTV product on several levels, we saw the value in the Accedo application portfolio of delivering not only great content, but a gaming experience which is specifically designed around our viewers needs.”

Michael Lantz, CEO at Accedo Broadband commented: “As a multi-platform distribution solution for online devices, Accedo’s technology and on demand content application portfolio is capable of integrating easily with existing middleware deployments. Our interactive consumer brand Funspot® is already available in millions of homes connected to IPTV services around the world. Our agreement with Inuk Networks to enhance the company’s Freewire service will allow us to provide UK audiences with this compelling package of casual games and services.”

Freewire TV users will be able to enjoy a wide range of games and activities on Funspot® including puzzles, quizzes, card games, board games and other categories. The first games are expected to be available on the Freewire TV service in the next month.
