Stockholm, Sweden and Unterföhring, Germany, 19th October 2016 – Accedo (http://www.accedo.tv/), the video experience pioneer, today announced that its cloud-based application publishing and configuration platform, Accedo AppGrid®, is powering seven new Video On Demand (VOD) services for ProSiebenSat.1 Digital GmbH.
The ProSiebenSat.1 Group is one of the largest independent media corporations in Europe. The new VOD services have been launched across multiple platforms for seven of its channels, namely ProSieben, SAT.1, kabel eins, sixx, ProSieben MAXX, SAT.1 Gold and kabel eins Doku. Each service has a strong emphasis on live TV, featuring a live stream of the channel for the first time ever in Germany. Users can also enjoy episodes of their favourite shows on catch up, as well as the latest video news.
Accedo AppGrid® provides modern video experience providers with real-time control, configuration and cross-platform insights over their video experiences from one, full-featured, cloud-based platform. It has enabled ProSiebenSat.1 to tweak and rebrand its existing VOD service to create seven unique experiences for each TV channel. By extracting all the essential parameters of the deployment into AppGrid, such as branding & technical parameters, it could remotely configure their brands with an unparalleled speed and agility.
“ProSiebenSat.1 Digital is giving its viewers more content and experiences from each of their favourite channels,” added Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo. “This will enable the users to download the VOD services better suited to their preferences and ultimately get a better, more personalised experience, something which is becoming increasingly key for the modern consumer.”
Each VOD service is available across multiple devices, including Samsung Smart TV’s Tizen and Orsay, and the DTAG Next Generation TV platform Set-top-box.
