Accedo is pleased to relay some exciting product development announcements from the team at ROKU. Since our last blog post on maximizing monetization for OTT services through the ROKU Advertising Framework, there have been some further improvements to the platform with respect to advertising support. ROKU have now released a newer version of advertising framework (RAF v2.0), that brings a richer advertising experience for content providers.
Some key highlights in this update include ROKU SceneGraph ad rendering support for both video ads and Innovid Interactive ads. Innovid interactive ads allow for a clickable ad experience that allow audiences to engage with brands in a more direct and seamless way. Some of the way brands are using interactive video ads is by integrating social feeds and store locators directly within their videos. According to Innovid, “viewers are not only watching interactive video ads to completion, they are also voluntarily spending an average of 44 seconds more with brands and their content—which equates to over two full ads.”
Other features that have been added to RAF 2.0 include VAST 3.0 “ad buffet” support and extended companion ad tag parsing from VAST to allow multiple ad renderers for different companion creatives.
For OTT services looking to take full advantage of RAF 2.0, Accedo has already begun integration efforts for the updated version and will be rolling it out to our customers to help them optimize their monetization on the ROKU platform.
